ACTIVITIES

Community Service
Cornell Cares Day
Volunteers of all ages gather to work at various community agencies and organizations, including the Rochester Chapter of the American Red Cross. In one year, we assembled nearly 400 kits filled with personal hygiene items, which were given to people affected by disasters. Thanks to all for giving back to our community!
Networking
Throughout the year, Cornell area professionals meet at local pubs for socializing and networking. In October is Zinck's Night and May Slope Day Happy Hour.

Lectures by Cornell Faculty
Founder's Day
In January, in honor of Ezra Cornell's birthday, we hold our annual Founder's Day luncheon or dinner. A keynote presentation typically is delivered by a visiting Cornell University dean or professor. In 2017, Dean Mark W. Nelson, pictured left, entertained and enlightened alums with his vision for the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management. An expert in accounting, he also explained his research on the psychological and economic factors that influence business decisions.
Big Red Hockey
Dinner at the Statler + Hockey at Lynah Rink
Each January, an enthusiastic group of alums and their families trek to Ithaca to watch Cornell Hockey. We dine at Statler Hall before the game, and then join the Lynah Faithful to cheer on the Big Red.

Student Events
April, Accepted Students' Reception
Our annual reception for accepted students and their parents attracts an impressive crowd at Oak Hill Country Club. In August, at a private home, alums host Rochester area freshmen and transfer students for a send-off party. It provides a unique opportunity for incoming students to meet classmates before heading off to campus.
